Notes from WNP Steering Group meeting held at Walton Village Hall

1. Current situation
Dave Rolinson reported on his meeting with Shackleton Rollin which is a firm which can produce a package to incorporate photographic enhancements to the Draft Plan; make the Summary Leaflet more user friendly; and enable an interactive facility on the website for responses as well as other web design and management system.
Following this meeting, Shackleton Rollin have quoted for the design work and printing.
£12,000.00 has been budgeted for the whole project, of which £7,000.00 comes from Locality and £5,000.00 from Parish Council funds if required.
So far, money spent has come from the Locality grant has been spent with anticipated further spending on banners and printing and posting of publicity letters. The cost of the Independent Examiner and the referendum will be borne by WMDC.
By end September: Summary Leaflets, Draft WNP to be produced and website set up for responses.
Friday10th October: Letter in Wakefield Express publicising the arrival of the Summary Leaflet.
Saturday, 11th October and Sunday,12th October:
Collation of letter and leaflet and distribution to residents.
Collation of letter and stuffing of envelopes for postal recipients of publicity.
Banners to be put up.
Wednesday, 15th October: six week consultation to commence closing 5pm Wednesday, 26th November.
Sunday, 9th November 3.00pm to 7.00pm: Exhibition in the Village Hall.
3. Other issues
Accompanying letters to be amended with dates and other comments by David Plaut.
Draft Plan and Summary leaflet to be circulated by Helen Massey to Steering Group for information and final proof reading.
Obtain more publicity in Wakefield Express and Ridings FM.
4. Dates for the diary:
Leaflet collation and distribution: Saturday 11th October/Sunday 12th October.
